In the first college-level creative writing class I took during dual enrollment, my professor said something that stuck with me. He said, "If you're not writing, you're not a writer." It sounds like a no-brainer, right?
But believe me, when you're fighting self-criticism and all-too-high, self-imposed expectations, it can be difficult to sit down and just write. If an artist is not creating, they're like a dormant volcano growing quieter and more closed-up the longer they remain inactive.
This blog is my eruption; this is me becoming active.
And honestly, it's probably going to look like a volcanic mess, but I'm bubbling over with things to say and ways to say them. This is me finding—and using—my voice.
“I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.”
